Art – Dolphin Swimmers
Find a special object (stuff animal, picture frame, etc) at home that has primary/secondary colors, lines and shapes. Bring it to class for show and tell.
Review the following three elements of art:

Thank you for sending your children’s baby pictures to class. We had fun matching them to our current pictures. A couple of kids were absent, and a couple forgot their pictures, so we will be playing the matching game one more time this coming week. I kept most of the baby pictures at ODE. If you didn’t send one in yet, send it this week! If you don’t have the original envelope, just send it in any envelope with your child’s name on it. All photos will be returned this week.
Something to think about this week…What type of neighborhood do you live in? (city, suburb, rural, something in between)

Please do 5 of following exercises, at least 3 days this week:
- 30 jumping jacks
- 10 sit-ups or crunches
- 20 squats
- 40 mountain climbers
- plank for 45 seconds
- 15 burpees
- invisible chair for 45 seconds
- or superman for 30 seconds
Those of you who were in my P.E. class last year know these exercises. If you don’t know at least 5 of them, substitute exercises you know how to do.

Please do three contour drawings in your sketchbook. Remember not look at your paper. These are just practice to help connect your hand and eye.
Practice only looking at the object. Relax, breath, and let your eye and hand move together.
Draw ANYTHING you like, but it has to be something you can look at, not from your imagination.
One drawing inspired by your contour drawing. You can look at this drawing as you make it.
You can add things from your imagination.
Please make two lists in your sketchbook. One list of comics/cartoons you like. One list of comics/cartoons you don’t like. 3 or more items in your lists please.

Read Chapter 5 of Space Taxi: Archie Takes Flight (please don’t read ahead). On your Homework Bookmark, write down words or phrases to describe two new characters – the cat and Mr. Fitch. It’s okay for someone to write down your ideas for you. You may also use a separate piece of paper if you can’t find your bookmark. Bring your work to class with you.

As I’m sure your children let you know, I had my windshield smashed in Friday morning and was late to ODE, and missed class this past week. We’ll be starting off this next week right away by delving into warm-ups, rounds and partner songs before working on this session’s song: “You’re in the Band” from School of Rock: The Musical.

World Geography – Dragons
- Complete Geography Trails Week 2 “”World”” worksheet
– answer the questions ( remember we spoke in class about dividing the Earth into north and south / east and west) - Complete the mapping on your World map. Label the oceans in blue, all caps. Label and draw dotted line for the Prime Meridian at zero degrees and for the International Date Line at 180 degrees be sure to look at your map and notice that it includes all of Alaska’s Islands. Extra points for telling me the name of the islands!
We will talk about the Geography Terms at the bottom of the sheet in class.
- Complete “”Using Latitude and Longitude in the Eastern Hemisphere”” worksheet
– It is fill in the blank with the terms at the top of the page but a term may be used more than once.
To answer your questions look in your atlas and at your maps but you are allowed to look up the answer online if you can’t find the answer.
