Due April 8
Read Chapters 2 & 3 of Jigsaw Jones: The Case of the Golden Key.
For Chapter 2, answer the following questions:
- On p.7, Jigsaw said that Reginald “wasn’t used to getting his toes stepped on.” What does this mean?
- What does Jigsaw compare his big toe to on p.8? Is this an example of a “simile” or a “metaphor”? (Remember, a simile compares two things using “like” or “as”, and a metaphor compares two things without using “like” or “as”)
- Who is Mila Yeh?
- What does “tickling the ivories” mean (p.10)?
- Can you find the simile on p. 8?
For Chapter 3, answer the questions on these worksheets:

A Note to Parents:
We are reading Jigsaw Jones: The Case of the Golden Key by James Preller this session.
This book was published in 2002 by Scholastic, and again in 2019 by Feiwel and Friends (Macmillan). Whether you are purchasing or getting this book from the library, please make sure you get the 2019 version. There are significant differences between the two books and I want to make sure we’re all on the same page (literally)!
