This is what we covered today! We talked about how scientists use light and their telescopes to learn about stars and planets. In bold are some questions you could ask your child.
Light moves as a wave.
- Which color of light has the most energy? The least?
Light can be bent.
- Which liquid bent the light the most – the water? Vinegar? Corn syrup?
When light bends, we can see the color spectrum.
- What colors are in the color spectrum?
We used a homemade spectroscope to look at rainbows in ordinary sunlight and talked about primary colors. We also made sensory bottles using clear glue, water, and glitter.
