Hello Dolphin Swimmers!
This week’s book is Diary of a Worm by Doreen Cronin. In the video, the story is narrated by the book’s illustrator, Harry Bliss. Try to follow along with the words. You can watch the book here:
Sequencing Months of the Year worksheet –
Cut out the squares at the bottom of the page. Glue them in the correct order in the squares below the worm. Read the squares to someone in your family. Color the worm if you’d like.
One More Day –
Imagine another day in the worm’s life. On a sheet of paper, write the date, draw a picture, and write a sentence from the point of view of the worm. Read it to someone at your house, or post a picture of it on the ODE Facebook page.
Diary of a Kid at Home –
Create your own diary. You can add an entry every day, or once in a while. Be sure to write the date, draw a picture, and add a sentence or two about what happened during your day. Use a notebook, or staple a bunch of paper together. Add a cover!
Here are three more worksheets for story sequencing and story comprehension:
Macaroni Necklace –
If you have dried noodles with holes, string them together to make a necklace. Later, boil them and eat them for dinner!
