Beginning Rhythm Reading

This week in music class we learned about steady beat. It stays the same! Think about your heart beat. When you are sitting or walking your heart has a medium steady beat, not too fast and not too slow. When you run your heart beat is fast and when you sleep your heart beat is slow. We also learned about quarter notes and 2 eighth notes. A quarter note makes one sound and 2 eighth notes make 2 sounds. Practice the 3 rhythms below at a medium beat. (Like how your heart beat would be if you were sitting still).

For an extra challenge you can try clapping each rhythm to a fast steady beat or a slow steady beat.
