Intro to Earth Science

In this class we will learn about the earth from a scientific perspective. Some of
the topics that will be explored are layers of earth, rocks and minerals, erosions
and causes of natural disasters such as hurricanes or tornados.

There will be a mixture of direct teaching, guided practice, labs and
independent work. Each week homework and/or extension activities will be given
to reinforce and expand on the given topic. When possible, students will be able
to choose from a couple of options of extension/homework activities, the goal
being the student chooses an assignment that best fits their learning style.

“You can teach a student a lesson for a day;
But if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity,
He will continue the learning process as long as he lives.” Clay P. Bedford
