Overview:

This class will primarily focus on the Six Big Ideas of the United States Constitution and government to prepare students for the mandatory Constitution Test. If time allows, students will have opportunities to reflect and offer fact-based interpretations of a law or amendment. This class is appropriate for motivated students within grades 6-8.

Texts/Materials:

We will be using several primary texts and handouts that will be provided by the instructor. I will also post each class lecture in the form of a PowerPoint Presentation that will be available on the ODE website.

Course Study:

This course is divided into six units, and each class session will focus on a Big Idea. Reading,
comprehension, and vocabulary assignments will be given each week. These assignments may
be completed individually or with a partner. Please expect one quiz, one test, and one
project. Details to come.
