Description
This class will help students attain a second-year level of proficiency in listening, speaking, and reading and writing skills. We will start with a review of last year’s concepts, basic grammar, and vocabulary, and “move forward” to master the Preterit (past tense) and future. The class will move at a deeper and faster pace than the beginner level, with the expectation that students will dedicate at least 4 hours a week to homework and language practice at home. My approach is activity-centered strategies such as total physical response, language experience activities and holistic instruction (that is, we learn as we do, play, etc.), concentrating this year on dialogue and conversation practice. Spanish Is Fun Book 2 is the required text, and it expresses my goal for the class: to provide lively fun Spanish learning at a higher level! ( I will bring copies to sell for $21 at our opening picnic as Publisher's price is cheaper than Amazon and this is a book that needs to be new at purchase, as it includes worksheets to be completed in the book)
