We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility… These words written over 200 years ago did not appear in a vacuum; Where did they come from and what significance did they have to the people surrounding them? Likewise, they had implications in the lives of countless people up until today. This course will take us from the founding of Jamestown to the presidency of Andrew Jackson in the course of the year, with heavy emphasis on the constitution and founding of the nation.
