Ancient and World Literature This year’s emphasis will be on Ancient and World Literature. We will begin with myths, fables, and short Bible passages as we learn how to take notes, be active readers, and get comfortable with writing. We will move into reading books set during the Ancient time period that will make history come alive! The second part of the year we will focus on literature set in different countries with an emphasis on learning about different cultures. We will take time to read poetry throughout the year, practice journaling, learn new vocabulary, write and perform skits, and more!
Supplies needed:
1 ½ - 2 inch 3 ring binder with pockets
Loose leaf paper
Highlighters, colored pens/pencils
Post it notes (1 pack) and Post it “flags”
4 dividers for binder
Pouch for 3 ring binder (can get for @$1 at WalMart)
Notebook/composition book for journaling (student’s choice, whatever they like the looks of)
Optional: 1 subject notebook for note taking in class, or can use loose leaf paper
